Tile: This is by far the hardest surface to mount on. It cracks extremely easily, both from the drill bit and the mount. We specialize in mounting TVs on tile!
Stone: Stone doesn’t crack or break as easily, but it is rarely level. Each installation requires creative solutions for spacing. While it’s not extremely difficult, it is certainly more challenging than mounting on drywall.
Brick: You might be surprised to learn that mounting a TV on brick is actually quite manageable. The main drawback is that it can wear down expensive drill bits and take extra time.
Full Motion Bracket Over a Fireplace
Installing a full-motion bracket is much like setting up other types, but it provides the unique advantage of easily adjusting the TV’s position. This feature is especially useful if you plan to watch from various angles. Additionally, these brackets allow the TV to tilt downward, enhancing your viewing experience.
However, one downside of a full-motion bracket is that it protrudes from the wall more than other types, even when the TV is in a flat position.
One of the few downsides to a full motion bracket is the fact it patrueds off the wall. they normally sit off the wall futhur than any other bracket even when laying flat.
Mantel Mount Installation
As you can see, a Mantel Mount designed for a specific purpose.
It allows you to mount a TV high above a fireplace and pull it down to a more appropriate viewing height when in use. It’s not easy looking up to watch TV.
While mounting a TV over a fireplace has its drawbacks, such as the TV often being too high, this mount addresses that issue.
However, it is a thicker mount, which means the TV won’t sit flush against the wall. If aesthetics are a concern, this may not be the ideal option for you.
If you need to mount your TV high above a fireplace, this is likely your best choice.
